Care Mobile - Wednesday, March 5, 2025

Care Mobile will be visiting Valley Junior/Senior High School on Wednesday, March 5th, 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Care Mobile offers medical care to children for no out-of-pocket costs. See the Health Services Tab to download the Parent Consent Form and other important documents.

General School Board Meeting and Finance Committee Meeting - Tuesday, January 14, 2025

The New Kensington-Arnold School Board has rescheduled the January School Board Meeting to Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.

The New Kensington-Arnold School Board will have a Finance Committee Meeting on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 immediately following the General School Board Meeting. Both meetings will be held in the Board Room at VJSHS, 703 Stevenson Boulevard, New Kensington, and also virtually via Microsoft Teams. Click the title above to join the virtual meeting.

PTA Meeting - Tuesday, January 28th

The PTA will hold a meeting in the cafeteria at Roy A Hunt Elementary
School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28th. This meeting is for parents of ALL students in grades K-6. Come join the meeting to learn about upcoming events and how you can help with these activities!

January is Mid-Year Benchmark Time

January is mid-year benchmark time! All students in grades K-6 will have their reading fluency assessed using the Dibels Assessment, while all students in grades 1-6 will take the STAR Math and STAR Reading tests. The mid-year results will be sent home after all assessments are complete.

100th Day of School - Monday, February 3, 2025

The 100th Day of School is February 3, 2025. To celebrate this day, classes often participate in different activities. Many students will complete 100th Day of School projects, some will read for 100 minutes, while others will work together to create 100th Day door displays for a competition. Look for your child’s 100th Day of School information in the coming weeks!

READBowl Reading Competition

Several classes at Roy A Hunt are participating in the READBowl. READBowl is a free global reading competition where PK-8 classrooms around the globe compete to read for the most minutes. The competition begins January 8 and ends on the morning of the (NFL) Super Bowl Sunday February 11. READBowl is a 4-week program divided into four quarters. Reading minutes must be tracked in the Official READBowl Weekly Playbook at www.readwithmalcolm.com/readbowl. The competition is based on the highest student average for reading minutes.
