2-Hour Delay - Monday, September 29, 2025

On Monday, September 29, 2025, the New Kensington-Arnold School District will be implementing a 2-hour delay for students. This decision has been made to accommodate essential professional development activities for our dedicated faculty members.

During this time, our teachers will engage in important training sessions aimed at enhancing their skills and knowledge, ultimately benefiting the educational experience of our students. We appreciate your understanding and support in allowing our faculty the opportunity to continue their professional growth.

Please ensure that students arrive at their bus stops or schools exactly two hours later than their usual times.

2026 NKASD Distinguished Alumni Award Nominations

The New Kensington-Arnold School District is seeking nominations for its Distinguished Alumni Award for the class of 2026. Appropriately nominated alumni will represent the best of the communities of Arnold and New
Kensington. They are role models for our students to look up to and a source of great pride for the school district. Consideration will be given to candidates that have made outstanding contributions in, but not limited to, the areas of athletics, business, education, journalism, law, manufacturing, medicine, performing arts, public service, science, and the trades. The General School Board Meeting of the New Kensington-Arnold School District will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Board Room at VJSHS, 703 Stevenson Boulevard, and also virtually via Microsoft Teams. Information for joining the virtual meeting will be available on the NKASD Website the day of the meeting. This meeting is open to the public.

Free Summer Food Program

The Nutrition Group and New Kensington-Arnold School District will be offering summer meals to school-age children in the Community. The program is free, and admission is open to all school-age children 18 years of age or younger, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. Free meals are dine in only, and there is no sign-up required.

Meals will be served at Valley High School, 703 Stevenson Boulevard, Monday – Friday, July 28 – August 8, 2025. Breakfast is 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and Lunch is 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
