Letter from the Principal
Dear Roy A. Hunt Elementary Parents and Families,
It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to new school year at Roy A. Hunt Elementary School. Whether you are returning to our community or joining us for the first time, we are grateful to have you as partners in your child’s educational journey.
At Roy A. Hunt, our mission extends far beyond academics. We are deeply committed to cultivating the values that help students grow into thoughtful, responsible, and confident young people. We are always focusing on three core values that shape our school culture:
Integrity – We encourage students to do what is right, even when no one is watching. Building integrity helps children develop honesty, responsibility, and strong character.
Compassion – We strive to create an environment where every student feels seen, supported, and valued. Compassion helps our students understand others, show empathy, and build meaningful relationships.
Respect – Respect is at the heart of a positive school community. We teach students to value themselves, their peers, their teachers, and our school. Respectful behavior creates a safe, welcoming environment where everyone can succeed.
Every day, we work together to ensure that Roy A. Hunt Elementary is a place where these values are lived and modeled. I am continually inspired by the resilience, enthusiasm, and spirit shown by our students, staff, and families. There is something truly special about being a part of this community—and we are proud to say We Are Vikings!
Thank you for entrusting us with your children.
With Viking pride,
Jeff Thimons
Principal, Roy A. Hunt Elementary School
